On the third day of A Dul Azhar, a member of the Bahadurabad group of the MMM-P and the dissident party leader said. Fighting between supporters of Farooq Sattar has begun, a senior member of the party said on Tuesday.
On condition of anonymity, the elder said that a 22-year-old boy came to the MMM-P office of the union council at No.1 to complain about the sewage deposits in front of his relatives' houses. .
"Instead of listening to the complainant, the officials of MQM-P's Bahadurabad group abducted the boy from PIB Colony to meet his relatives on the occasion."
"The boy gave a reference to his father, who worked with the Sattar-led PIB group and made the situation worse."
The senior leader said the complainant's father came to the office with five to six others and started abusing the party workers there, resulting in clashes between the parties.
Local representative of the District Municipal Corporation Central, Muhammad Sabi, confirmed the incident. However, he denied involvement of the Sattar-led group.
"This is a dispute between the residents of the area and the new Karachi officers of the MQM-P with minimal sanitation," said Sabir.
DMC central chairman Rehan Hashmi said: “The matter is not serious. It is only involved in sewerage on the streets of Karachi.
Hashmi said, "I have filed several complaints to the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board regarding the dilapidated infrastructure in the entire district, but to no avail."
A former MQMP team official came up with a completely different story.
He said that the party's Baldiyati Accounts Committee had asked local representatives of the New Karachi area to provide details of their expenditure in ul Dul Azha. Local representatives failed to provide the details, leading to clashes with party workers.
He said the party's decision-making body, Rabita Committee, was also present outside the office when the fight started. They even failed to stop the fight, the former officer said.
He said that the DMC central chairman and union council secretary have issued Tk 5,000 for local representatives of the area to ensure offseason disposal and cleanliness.
