According to Inter-Services Public Relations, the Pakistani army on Tuesday responded to the ceasefire along the Line of Control, killing six Indian soldiers and injuring many more.
The Pakistani army's firing came in response to violations of the Indian ceasefire, killing three Pakistanis. One of the victims was a seven-year-old boy.
Pakistan Army targets Indian posts in LoC's underwater sector, Major General Asif Ghafoor, Director General of ISPR said on Twitter. He said one of the Indian soldiers killed was an officer.
The DG ISPR also said that two bunkers operated by Indian forces were also destroyed in retaliatory fire.
Indian forces often violate the ceasefire agreement between the two countries. The frequency of the breach has increased after New Delhi rejected its autonomous position in the disputed Himalayan region.
India eliminated autonomous positions in parts of the Muslim majority region in the first week of August, raised movement restrictions and stopped using phones and the Internet to overcome civil unrest, and called on Pakistan to intervene in the international community.
US President Donald Trump has also spoken to Prime Minister Imran Khan and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and called for reducing tensions over Kashmir.
In his tweet on Tuesday, he mentioned that he had spoken to his "two good friends" about trade, strategic partnerships and emphasized the improvement of India-Pakistan relations.
He remarked that the situation was "tough", but had "good talks" with both Prime Ministers.
A day ago, Prime Minister Khan explained to Trump about Pakistan's position on Kashmir.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said at a press conference on Monday night, "The Prime Minister had a telephone conversation with the US President." "He elaborated on Pakistan's position in the context of Kashmir."
He informed President Trump that India's unilateral actions were aimed at converting the Muslim majority into a minority in Kashmir.
Qureshi later concluded that Prime Minister Khan represented the Kashmiri people and presented their case effectively.
